UK alcohol group Halewood Wines & Spirits has launched a CBD-infused rum under its Dead Man’s Fingers brand. The company said the new spiced variant is one of the first hemp rums and shakes up a category that has become stale in recent years.

The new launch aims to break Dead Man’s Fingers into “macro trend of cannabis-infused drinks”, Halewood added.

CBD is an ingredient found in hemp and cannabis but has no psychoactive properties. It has been linked with a number of health benefits, with some consumers claiming it can help aid sleep and reduce anxiety.

The new spiced rum has “hints of cola, coffee, hops and pine with a grassy herbal back note”, Halewood said.
