West Australia: Carnamah man, 54, charged after allegedly mailing cannabis to Karratha

A Carnamah man will face court after police allegedly linked mail containing cannabis to his address, with a subsequent raid of his caravan allegedly uncovering just over a kilo of cannabis and cash.

Police from Mingenew, Morawa, Perenjori and Three Springs assisted Carnamah officers to raid a property in Carnamah last week. The search warrant was issued after a mail package allegedly containing a “small quantity of cannabis” arrived in Karratha.

Carnamah Police officer-in-charge Sergeant Mike Nardini said police conducted inquiries with Karratha Police and issued a search warrant at the address after the mail was sent from the post office and discovered on September 16.

At 10.30am on Thursday, police allegedly discovered 1.1kg of cannabis, drug paraphernalia and $3000 cash inside the caravan during their search.

“We located a 54-year-old Carnamah man living on the property by himself,” Sgt Nardini said.
