A Masterton couple were fortunate not to lose their home after a cannabis-growing operation was discovered in a bedroom.

According to High Court documents released last week, Tony Robert Keen and Wendy Jane Milligan were in danger of losing their Masterton house after police made a claim under the Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Act 2009 (CPRA).

Police were granted a restraining order over the couple’s Huia St property in December 2016 after a drug-growing operation was found in the house.

During the searches police found 12 cannabis plants, dried cannabis in bags, tinnies and 18 grams of cannabis oil in a Kinder Surprise egg.
