In the past two years alone, Humberside Police has uncovered and shut down 340 cannabis farms across the region.
Through data obtained from a Freedom of Information Request, Grimsby Live can reveal where the cannabis farm hotspots in North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire are located. In 2022, 63 farms were found across the boroughs, ten fewer than the 73 uncovered in 2021.
Police made 222 arrests in total in relation to involvement in growing cannabis. One of the most prominent spots, where police uncovered a whopping 23 cannabis grows, was in Grimsby’s East Marsh. This is 16 more than the neighbouring West Marsh, which had the second-highest number.
