Officers in Lowestoft were patrolling the area surrounding the station in Old Nelson Street on Sunday evening (November 7) when they spotted an “unusual glow” coming from a building nearby.
After investigating closer, officers could smell “a right pong” coming from a property in Arnold Street and then entered the premises.
Inside, a large amount of cannabis plants were discovered and one man at the address was arrested.
He was subsequently taken to Great Yarmouth Investigation Centre where he was questioned on suspicion of producing, or being concerned in the production of a Class B drug.
Investigations are continuing following the discovery.
A Lowestoft Police spokesman said: “As you all know, growing cannabis is illegal but it’s probably not a great idea to construct a cannabis factory right near to the police station.”
