Two men have pleaded guilty to producing cannabis after police seized around £1m worth of cannabis at a Mapperley Park property.
Officers forced entry to an address at Lucknow Drive where they located around 1,400 mature plants in a number of rooms across the detached residential property.
The raid was on Thursday, September 9, at around 11.30am.
Jevgenij Babkov, 24, and Noyus Kastenas, 20, both of Lucknow Drive, were charged with the production of a Class B drug.
They appeared at Nottingham Crown Court this morning (Monday, October 4) for a plea and trial preparation hearing and both entered guilty pleas to producing a quantity of cannabis between June 1, 2021, and September 10, 2021.
After entering his plea, Kastenas added: “I plead, I was looking after those plants”.
Both men, who were remanded in custody after appearing at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, September 11, appeared over links from HMP Nottingham today. A Lithuanian interpreter translated for them.
Anthony Cheung, prosecuting, said: “There needs to be a basis of plea for both defendants and time for the prosecution to consider those bases”.
