Police have busted a huge cannabis factory in Stoke-on-Trent with drugs thought to be worth £1 million.

More than 2,600 cannabis plants were found at the undisclosed site in Shelton on Friday.

Three suspects were detained at the scene, including one who tried to climb onto the roof to evade arrest.

Staffordshire Police’s neighbourhood tasking team (NTT) has now revealed the true scale of the drugs production uncovered at the premises.

The team tweeted: “The cannabis factory that was found in Shelton yesterday had more than 2,600 plants, with a total value of approximately £1 million.
