This appears to be a bit of a thing at the moment. We read of a dealer in Sydney (Aus) picked up over the weekend for doing the same.
Here we have Ohio police finding a man asleep in car and discovering cannabis, loaded gun and thousands of dollars in cash.
A 30-year-old Cleveland man attracted the attention of workers last month when he not only fell asleep in his vehicle at a gas pump, but also did so while the pump nozzle was still in his gas tank.
Staff at Circle K & Marathon Gas saw the man taking a much-needed nap in the less-than-recommended spot at about 1:15 a.m. on Oct. 23 and flagged down the Brook Park Police, according to Cleveland.com.
Seeing the nozzle, the officers hung it up on the pump. They then opened the unlocked driver’s side door and noticed a bag of cannabis on the seat.
While rousing the napping driver, they spied the butt of a handgun in the driver’s seat, which was confiscated.
The driver responded that he had a permit, although not on him. A check determined that the permit had been suspended, Cleveland.com reports.
A search of the vehicle revealed a half bottle of tequila, six bags of weed inside a backpack in the backseat and US$7,817 in his pants pocket, his wallet and the vehicle door.
No word on what charges, if any, are being considered or have been laid in the Ohio incident. The driver did, however, pass field sobriety tests, according to Cleveland.com.
