Suspected grow ends with U.K. man’s arrest for cannabis production

A 35-year-old man from Kensington, an inner-city area of Liverpool, U.K., has been arrested after a tip led local police to a property where officers found a thriving cannabis farm spread across six growing rooms.

At about 11:35 p.m. on Dec. 28, following inquiries into suspected marijuana cultivation, officers with the Merseyside Police detained the man at the Kensington property.

Inside the home, officers found and seized 290 cannabis plants and related paraphernalia located across six growing rooms, notes a statement from police. The man has been arrested on suspicion of cannabis production, which carries a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison, an unlimited fine or both in the U.K.
