The National Police seized 129 plants and discovered a sophisticated system for the cultivation of the drug
National Police officers were quickly on the scent of a marijuana plantation in Mijas and when they raided the address they discovered a sophisticated growing operation in the property’s basement.
A mother and son, aged 52 and 23 years old respectively, were arrested and 129 marijuana plants, which yielded an approximate gross weight of 16 kilogrammes of drugs, were seized.
Officers also discovered that the basement had a sophisticated system for growing the marijuana with temperature controls, a humidifier and six LED spotlights.
The pair were arrested for an alleged crime against public health and were placed at the disposal of the Court of Instruction number 4 of Fuengirola.
