Adeliade reports……Police have seized hydroponic equipment and cannabis from a Lewiston property that broke out in flames overnight, leaving a man seriously injured.

Just after 9.30pm on Sunday, emergency crews were called to Gawler Rd after flames were spotted coming from a shed, just west of Gawler.

Despite the quick work of Country Fire Service firefighters, one man sustained serious burns to his arms and head, while the shed was significantly damaged.

The man was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

A second person on the property, a woman, was also treated for smoke inhalation at hospital.

The CFS says firefighters managed to stop the flames spreading to a nearby house, but the estimated damage bill to the shed is $40,000.

Police say the cause of the fire is undetermined but it is believed to be non-suspicious.

After a search of the property, police uncovered hydroponic equipment and two cannabis plants. Inquiries are continuing into the plants.
