Bosses of Glasgow-based record label Lunacy launched the joint to 87,000ft with the help of high-altitude balloon operators Sent Into Space.
And after it came back down to Earth, YouTuber Drew Gilchrist smoked it to see if its trip had made a difference to its effects.
Lunacy, which also makes baccy papers, said on Facebook: “We gone and done it! We sent papers to outer space.
“After several failed attempts with large catapults by ourselves, we collaborated with former Nasa associates Sent Into Space and pioneered the first ever rolling papers sent into orbit.”
During the two-hour flight, the joint and papers reached a height of 86,700ft in temperatures of -48.7C.
Drew, who claims to run the UK’s biggest cannabis-promoting YouTube channel, later filmed himself puffing it.
He said: “The joint would have gone up to about 100,000ft.
