MORE than P339 million (RM27.2m) worth of marijuana in different areas of Tinglayan town were destroyed during a four-day anti-illegal drug operation recently.
Reports in Manila Times said the operation was carried out in the Kalinga province, according to a report released by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Northern Luzon Command (Nolcom).
The operation was jointly conducted by the AFP-Joint Task Group (JTG) Peace and Justice, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, the National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in the Cordillera Administrative Region.
According to AFP-Nolcom commander, Lt. Gen. Ernesto Torres Jr., a total 1,577,500 fully-grown marijuana plants were uprooted and burned onsite.
