A drug-detection dog at Adelaide Airport has sniffed out a stash of dried cannabis in two suitcases bound for Sydney, leading to the arrest of two people.
After being alerted to the find by Ziggy, police found 13 kilograms in the two bags and later found another 36kg and $6000 in cash after a search of two Adelaide homes.
A 27-year-old man from Adelaide and a 26-year-old woman from NSW were charged with two counts of trafficking a large commercial quantity of drugs.
They were refused bail and were expected to appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court.
Detective Chief Inspector Denise Gray said the cannabis had a street value of more than $400,000.
She said the drugs could have been intended for distribution in Adelaide and interstate and officers were following up enquiries both locally and in Sydney.
