A very friendly, but not medically approved, weed-smoking woman in Florida looking for a smoke buddy ended up in the local detention centre after asking a sheriff’s deputy if he wanted to join her for a mid-morning sesh.
The 50-year-old woman was sitting in her vehicle on State Road 44 at about 8:19 a.m. this past Sunday when the inquiring and concerned deputy responded for a well-being check, reports Villages News.
The woman seemed fine, readily informing the officer that she had weed and, as any good host would do, asking if he’d like to partake. She reportedly opened a bag that was on the vehicle’s passenger seat and pulled out a glass container believed to contain marijuana, the publication cites the arrest report as noting.
Asking the deputy if he’d like to take a sniff, he obliged, confirming that it, indeed, smelled like cannabis.
The deputy asked the woman if she had a medical marijuana card, which she replied she did not, but was interested in obtaining.
Absent the card and carrying about four grams of weed and rolling papers, she was arrested and later charged with possession of not more than 20 grams of cannabis and possession and/or use of drug equipment.
Constance Ann Polk was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on a US$200 bond.
