NZ: Invercargill couple plead not guilty to charge of making cannabis oil after explosion at house

An Invercargill couple, who were allegedly making cannabis oil before an explosion at their house, have pleaded not guilty to a charge in relation to the incident.

Rebecca Bower, 27, and Samuel Just, 28, appeared in the Invercargill District Court on Tuesday, jointly charged with producing cannabis oil in Invercargill on September 9.

Cannabis oil is a class B controlled drug and producing it carries a maximum penalty of 14 years’ jail.

The couple stood next to each other when called in court, but had separate lawyers and both lawyers entered a plea of not guilty on their client’s behalf.
