Suspected drugs worth an estimated £12m have been seized following operations involving police in Northern Ireland and Belgium, the National Crime Agency and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
On Tuesday, police seized suspected herbal cannabis during a search at a haulage yard in Newry, County Down. They said it was the largest seizure to date in Northern Ireland.
A 34-year-old-man has been charged.
He will appear in Newry Magistrates’ Court on Thursday to face six offences relating to the drugs seizure, including possession of a Class B controlled drug with intent to supply.
