Assembly Bill 3487 seeks to bar firefighters and their operational members from the permissive use of marijuana.
If passed, this bill would exclude firefighters from engaging in perfectly legal consumption of cannabis off of the job, restricting the rights of one of the most vital groups of employees in society as a whole and putting their employment and well-being at risk.
Currently, under state law, firefighters’ rights with regard to the use of cannabis are no different than anyone else’s.
