In light of the move by Thailand legalizing marijuana for medical purposes, the Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) has released a statement that they will reject any move to legalize the substance.

As reported by FMT, the Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun stated that legalizing marijuana in Malaysia would create a lot of problems as well as complicate the issues of drug abuse and drug trafficking.

The Malaysian Times He said, “We are also worried about the possibility of marijuana smuggled into this country.” Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi also elaborated that the Malaysian police will be working hard to reinforce the border controls in order to stop the smuggling of marijuana and any other form of drugs.
