Men charged after ‘cannabis plants worth £1.3m’ seized by Police Scotland

More than 100 police officers across Scotland took part in the targeted raids on Friday morning. Eleven men, aged between 20 and 42, were arrested and charged in connection with the recoveries.

Eleven men have been charged following the seizure of cannabis plants across Scotland said to be worth more than £1.3m.

More than 100 Police Scotland officers across the country raided a number of properties – both industrial and private – on Friday morning.

In Glasgow, premises were targeted in the Woodlands, Gorbals, Kinning Park, Maryhill and Whiteinch areas of the city.

An estimated £244,900 worth of cannabis plants were recovered from the various addresses along with a five-figure sum of cash.

In Paisley, Renfrewshire, cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £120,000 were seized alongside a suspected £8,000 cocaine haul.

Cannabis plants worth an estimated £261,000 were recovered from a property in Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway, and a further batch worth in excess of £740,000 was seized from an address in Kirkcaldy, Fife.
