Kashmir: Another consignment of hashish recovered by ANTF, four arrested

After recovery of 30 kilograms hashish from Mir Bazaar area of district Kulgam yesterday, Anti Narcotic Task Forces (ANTF) today again recovered another consignment of 15 kilograms of hashish and arrested four persons including two ladies.

This was stated by Superintendent of Police (SP) ANTF Vinay Sharma while interacting with media persons here today.

SP informed that on specific input that some inter-state smugglers are carrying huge quantity of hashish in a car bearing registration number UP81Q-1818 from Kashmir to Maharashtra.

On receiving this input, ANTF swung into action and laid check points at various places on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, SP said, adding that car was intercepted near Environmental Park on Narwal-Sidhra by pass road.

“On thorough search, 15 kilograms of hashish was recovered which was concealed in a specially modified cavity in the car. All four persons including two ladies have been arrested and car has been seized”, SP Vinay Sharma said, adding that the arrested persons have been identified as Deepak, son of Keshav Singh of Uttar Pradesh, Girish Kumar, son of Puran Chand of Jaipur Rajasthan, Tamana, daughter of Satyaveer of Uttar Pradesh and Asen Lata, wife of Girish of Jaipur Rajasthan.

A case under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station ANTF and further investigation into the case is going to, SP Vinay Sharma said.
