Marijuana plants have been planted among vegetables in three plantations were discovered by personnel of the Kalinga Provincial Police Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the hinterlands of Barangay Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga.

KPPO Director Co. Davy Limmong has stated that government operatives conducted a two-day marijuana eradication after getting a tip-off from a concerned farmer last Friday. Limmong said the operatives first discovered a public lot with an estimated land area of 1,000 m2 planted with 6,000 fully grown marijuana with estimated worth of P2.1 million (€35.700). The team then proceeded to two more sites which had 4,800 grown marijuana plants.
