KALAMAZOO, MI — Cookies is the newest cannabis store in Kalamazoo, with plans to open for business on Friday, Feb. 26.
Kalamazoo Mayor David Anderson will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 26, at the store at 2712 Portage Street, according to a news release from the company.
The store’s grand opening for curbside medical sales will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27, the company said.
Cookies is an international cannabis lifestyle brand founded by California rapper and entrepreneur, Berner.
It will carry the entire family of Cookies offerings, including Cookies, Lemonnade, Runtz, Powerzzzup Genetics, Minntz and Grandiflora product lines.
“The Midwest is an important part of Cookies’ overall expansion plan, and our partnership with Gage Cannabis has been integral,” Cookies CEO Berner said in a news release. “We’ve seen tremendous demand from cannabis consumers in Michigan and the surrounding areas and look forward to continuing to serve them as our partnership grows with this second location.”
The Kalamazoo store is the second Cookies location in Michigan. The first location opened in 2020 at 6030 East 8 Mile Road, in Detroit.
Gage Cannabis is the exclusive partner of Cookies in Michigan, according to the business. Kalamazoo’s Cookies store will be Gage’s seventh retail location in Michigan.
