The Public Prosecutor of the State Security Court (SSC) launched an investigation into a case in which a Jordanian man attempted to smuggle 250 slabs of hashish into a neighboring country on foot.
Two charges were issued against the man and another individual, including possessing and exporting narcotic substances with the intent of trafficking. The other individual, however, fled the scene.
A source close to the investigation told Roya that the perpetrator was arrested after he got out of a vehicle carrying a backpack and started walking towards a ferry near the border.
The source added that the border guards arrested him while a search is underway for the other drug dealer.
