India: Kerala: Ganja, hashish oil seized from tourist bus

The state motor vehicle department has seized nearly 20 kilograms of ganja and hashish oil from a tourist bus originating from Bengaluru. The driver of the bus identified as Ananthu Nair, and two of his accomplices have been arrested.

Thiruvananthapuram: The state motor vehicle department has seized nearly 20 kilograms of ganja and hashish oil from a tourist bus originating from Bengaluru. The driver of the bus identified as Ananthu Nair, and two of his accomplices have been arrested, as reported by news agency IANS.
Vigil had been stepped up in the area in the wake of the recent tragedy in Wadakkanchery where nine persons including five children lost their lives in a tourist bus accident. The motor vehicle department has stepped up vigil and has been conducting searches in all tourist buses in the area, reported IANS.
According to department authorities, who searched the bus near Walayar in Palakkad district, the driver has accepted that they were using the seized material while the bus was being parked during the day in Bengaluru. The department and police are currently probing whether the bus driver along with his accomplices was bringing banned narco substances to the state from Bengaluru, reported IANS.
