Joiner Adam Bougourd turned to drug dealing so he could buy cannabis oil after wrongly self-diagnosing himself with cancer.
The 30-year-old dad was so worried he had an illness that he decided to self-medicate.
From the profits of his dealing, he would buy £400 to £600 of cannabis which would be passed on to someone to turn into a medicinal oil.
But it later transpired he was cancer free.
Bougourd’s enterprise came crashing down after police stopped him for he jumping red lights in Middleport.
Officers found six large bags of cannabis and £700 cash.
His phone contained messages which showed he was involved in supplying cannabis for about three months.
Now the defendant has been sentenced to 12 months in prison, suspended for 18 months, with 200 hours unpaid work.
