A mystery person called Romeo secretly recruited a hard-up man to look after a sophisticated cannabis factory after offering him a tempting £2,000 fee during a shadowy meeting outside a pub.
The cannabis gardener who ended up looking after dozens of plants later claimed that he was promised that the lucrative work that he had accepted was entirely legal and above board, Hull Crown Court heard.
Paulin Kqira, 33, of no fixed address but originally from Albania, admitted producing cannabis on March 30.
