Hashish stuffed inside watermelons seized by Qatar Customs

Doha, Qatar: The Maritime Customs Department at Al Ruwais foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotic substances into Qatar.

In an announcement, Customs authorities stated that upon suspicion, a shipment of fruits was inspected. It further stated that when pallets containing watermelons were opened, a total of 62.700kg of prohibited hashish were found.

Customs also shared photos of the contraband stuffed inside hollow watermelons.

The Customs Department has been warning against bringing illegal goods into the country. They are equipped with all means of support including the latest devices and continuous training to read the body language of passengers and to be aware of the latest methods followed by smugglers.
