Clerks III – Kevin Smith says Jay and Silent Bob are getting a weed store

Director Kevin Smith celebrated the legalization of marijuana in New Jersey the best way he knew how.

Well, the second best way: with a spoiler from his upcoming movie “Clerks III.”

“SPOILERS!” Smith tweeted Monday. “NJ voted to legalize in November. I wrote ‘Clerks III’ two months later in January. So *of course* Jay and Silent Bob run their own weed store in the sequel.

“And yes,” he continued,” “it’s in the old RST Video store, which the boys rechristen as RST THCCBD! RSTTHCCBD.com.”

Jay and Silent Bob, played by Jason Mewes and Smith, famously hang out in front of RST Video, shooting the breeze, shadowboxing, selling marijuana and dancing in “Clerks” (1994) — the movie that launched Smith to stardom — and “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” (2001).
