A fisherman reported the discovery of an inflatable boat (zodiac) loaded with bales of drugs yesterday morning (Sunday) that arrived on the coast of Telde in Gran Canaria, according to a press release from the National Police.
He also said that several people, who were on the boat, ran away when it reached land and he started to approach them, leaving the bales and the boat behind.
According to the police, the boat was discovered on the coast between the Tufia cove and Ojos de Garza in the municipality of Telde, and contained 80 bales of narcotic substance, confirmed to be hashish.
The National Police have opened an investigation to locate the individuals who were in the boat and took charge of guarding the drug.
