Canada / US Border: Over one ton of marijuana seized at Blue Water Bridge

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is reporting that over one ton of marijuana was seized at the Blue Water Bridge Thursday night.

Officers referred a commercial shipment carrying food items bound for Columbus Ohio for further examination.

During the secondary inspection, 15 wooden crates containing 2,027 pounds of marijuana were located inside the trailer.

“Our officers continue to identify and target suspect shipments attempting to make entry into the United States,” said Port Director Michael Fox. “The men and women of CBP are committed to keeping illicit substances out of our communities.”

Further details, including if any arrests were made or if charges were laid, were not shared.
