A 46-year-old man has been charged with eight offences after he shot down a drone on the state’s Mid North Coast.

Police commenced inquires after a real estate agent attended a property on Dickinsons Road in Burrell Creek to take aerial footage with a drone about 10.30am on Thursday.

An occupant of the house, Jamie Robert Lulham, shot the drone with a firearm, police allege.

During a search of the property as a result of the incident, police located and seized 187 cannabis plants, 20kg of dried cannabis and a sum of cash.

They also seized an unregistered .22 calibre rifle 5km from the property.

Lulham was taken to Taree Police Station and charged with eight firearms and drug offences.

He was refused bail to appear at Forster Local Court on Friday.
