Australia: 32 Kilos Weed Buste In Mornington Peninsula Australia

Police have charged a man and woman after 32 kilograms of cannabis and cash was seized during the execution of a warrant in Rye last week.

The pair, a 39-year-old woman from Taylors Lakes and a 37-year-old man from Keilor Downs, have been charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of cannabis.

The charges follow a call to police about a noise complaint and the subsequent discovery of the dried cannabis, an amount of 1,4-Butanediol and cash at a Willonga Street property on Friday 29 May about 9am. This was a joint investigation, with officers from Rosebud, Rye and Mornington Peninsula Divisional Response Unit involved.

The man and woman were remanded in custody to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday 1 June, 2020.

Police are still making enquiries in relation to a third person believed to have been at the property at the time but who left the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
