5 N.Y. men caught with 1,100 pounds of weed, 50 pounds of edibles, in Jersey City & Fort Lee

Five New York men were caught with approximately 1,100 pounds of marijuana and 50 pounds of edibles in Jersey City and Fort Lee, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced.

Jingru Chen, 29, Fenglei Fan, 35, Lifan Feng, 21, Xingxiang Gao, 27, and Weiqi Wu, 25, all of Quuens, New York, are charged with first-degree possession with intent to distribute marijuana and first-degree possession with intent to distribute hashish, Musella said in a statement.

They were all remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.

On February 14th, during a narcotics investigation, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force identified Chen, Fan, Feng, Gao, and Wu, who were involved in the distribution of bulk shipments of illegal marijuana taking place in and around Fort Lee.

Detectives executed search warrants of four vehicles and a storage facility in Fort Lee, as well as a separate storage facility in Jersey City and discovered approximately 1,100 pounds of marijuana and over 50 pounds of THC edibles.

The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.

Musella also thanked the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Lee Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
