$10,000 in illegal narcotics recovered during drug enforcement operation

The Logan County Unified Drug Task Force and the Adult Parole Authority conducted a drug enforcement operation Thursday, April 15, that resulted in the recovery of more than $10,000 in illegal narcotics and resulted in three arrests.

Amber Mathews, 35, of Bellefontaine, was arrested at her residence for a parole violation. Methamphetamine and marijuana were recovered, and additional charges are pending, authorities said.

Evelyn K. Borba, 26, of Lakeview, was arrested in 400 block of east Main Street in Russells Point for a parole violation after she was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Additional charges are pending.

Karen Castle, 40, of Bellefontaine, was arrested in the 800 block of east Sandusky Avenue, Bellefontaine, for trafficking in cocaine.

In addition, officers of the Adult Parole Authority and detectives with the Task Force also recovered a large amount of marijuana and hashish from the home of Helen McGovern in Lakeview. Officers seized approximately 2 pounds of marijuana, 2 pounds of solid hashish, 23 grams of hashish oil and marijuana edibles.

Detectives are continuing their investigation and additional charges are pending.
